CCC Race Series FAQ

If you still have questions about the Corporate Challenge Cup please review the following “frequently asked questions”.
What about the weather?
All races are rain or shine. If the lake becomes too rough to sail (very rare) we will
reschedule the race for the next available date.
What should we wear?
Dress warmly with multiple layers. Include a hat and gloves just in case. Even if it is
a warm day on shore assume it will be much cooler on the water. Shoes should be
soft soled and comfortable – running shoes are ideal. If it is raining, plain old
rubber boots work just fine. Avoid stiff soled walking/hiking footwear; they tend to
be very slippery on a steel deck. We have plenty of room for you to stow extra gear
and private areas to change.
The crew jackets we will provide will be a light wind breaker type, sufficient on a
moderately cool day with layers underneath, but not waterproof.

Can we bring more than 10 people?
Yes, you can bring up to 20 total, but only ten may be the race crew. Others must
clearly understand that they are passengers. Passengers may, however, purchase
crew jackets for $30.00 and they must purchase a meal at $15.00 per person.
If our team advances to the next round can we substitute team members?
Definitely, in fact you may completely change the team if you wish, just make sure
we are aware so they will receive the appropriate onboard training.
How much will it cost to enter a team?
$2,500.00. A 50% deposit is required to secure your spot.
What exactly does the fee cover?
The fee covers your team for the entire race series, which includes all the races you
qualify for (up to 4), 10 onboard meals (catered by Fusion One Cafe), 10 crew
jackets, a team burgee, and the cup final barbeque.

If we lose our first race is that it?
No. All teams will compete in at least two races. First round defeated teams will race
against one another in an elimination round and one team will advance to the Semi
Final, this team must both win in their elimination round race and surpass the other
elimination round winners in points. Points will be calculated by formula. Also, all
teams are invited to the cup final barbeque and cup presentation.
What sort of exposure will my business get from this event?
Tall Ships events attract attention. We will be promoting the Corporate Cup race
series in local media and expect to attract significant coverage. All promotional
material, including posters and website pages will include the business names of all
12 entrants.
How do we enter?
Call BaySail and we can finalize the details and send you a contract.
