Legends of the Saginaw Sails

Learn the fascinating history of the Saginaw River as the Appledore sails from Downtown Bay City out to the Saginaw Bay. Once out on the open water, help the crew set the sails or relax and enjoy the view. A light lunch is served underway.

Dinner Sails

Join us for an unforgettable evening of sailing on the Saginaw Bay. Enjoy the sails, the sunset, and a delicious dinner -- see our menu here. Dress is casual. Select departures include live maritime music by Bay City's Hoolie.

Bay City Fireworks Festival

See the fireworks from the best seat in the house – the Deck of a Tall Ship! Join us on the Appledore IV for a three-hour sail, dinner served onboard, and the Bay City Fireworks. Departing from Wenonah Park at 6:00pm, returning at 9:00pm. Stay aboard and watch the fireworks at 10:00pm. Tickets include access to all Wenonah Park festivities.

Sorry, the Appledore IV will not be available for the Fireworks festival in 2013.

 

Stargazer Dinner Sails

Adults $80
A special live program presented onboard the Appledore IV by astronomers from the Delta College Planetarium: View constellations, listen to star legends, learn to navigate by the stars, hear the words of poets, and enjoy the beauty of the night sky under sail. Delicious dinner served onboard.

Moonlight Dinner Sails

Adults $80
The astronomers from the Delta College Planetarium present a special live program aboard the Appledore IV: learn about moon phases, listen to moon legends, and view the beauty of the Moon in the night sky. Delicious dinner served onboard.

Windjamming Day Sails

Adults $45, Students $35
Get onboard and take advantage of the blustery fall conditions as we push the schooner to really fly. This is a sail for those ready to join in and help the crew, get their hands dirty, and hang on for a wild ride.

Autumn Color Tour River Sails

Adults $37, Students $27
In October, as the leaves begin to change and the temperature starts to cool, the Appledore IV changes course and we begin our popular two-hour autumn color tour sails. Sailing upriver on the Saginaw, passengers will enjoy hot cider, chili and cornbread while keeping a sharp eye for Bald Eagles, Snowy Egrets, and of course the lovely colors. Cozy quilts available too!

Children 5 yrs and under sail free of charge on Appledore daytime sails and BBQ Dinner Sails (limit one per adult ticket purchased). In the event the ship does not depart for any reason rain checks will be issued. Schedule and prices subject to change without notice.
