Booking Policies
Individuals
To book a voyage a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The balance is due seven days before departure. All fees are non-refundable.
Groups
To book the entire ship for a voyage a 10% non-refundable deposit is required. A second non-refundable payment of 50% of the remaining voyage fee is due by April 1st, and the final balance is due 30 days before departure. We can accomodate groups of up to 15. For group bookings there will be an eight person minimum charge. All fees are non-refundable.
Transportation
Round trip van transportation from Bay City to the ships provided on all Michigan departures for a $40 per person fee. For other voyages participants must arrange their own transportation to and from the ship.
Safety
The Appledore IV and Appledore V are licenced by the U.S. Coast Guard and are crewed by a licenced captain, an experienced first mate, and two youth crew. Windward Bound is licenced by the State of Michigan as a youth travel camp. BaySail is a member of the American Sail Training Association (ASTA) and a past recipient of the ASTA "Sea Education Program of the Year" award.
