New Event in East Tawas

A new event is being hosted in East Tawas, Michigan this spring called Heritage Coast Sail Days – a collaborative effort between BaySail, Heritage Coast Sailing & Rowing, and the Tawas Area Chamber of
Commerce. Highlights of the May 21st – June 19th celebration include sailing on Tawas Bay aboard Appledore V, Art on the Bay sails with Sassy’s Art Studio, and the second annual Mackinaw Boat Symposium.

Public sails are available on the weekends beginning May 26th. Tickets are available here. For larger groups, consider a private charter aboard the Appledore V for up to 24 passengers. Contact Scott Ellis at scotte@baysailbaycity.org or (989) 895-5193 for more information.

Art on the Bay sails are scheduled for May 25th, June 1st, June 8th, and 16th. All supplies are included. No experience is necessary. Feel free to bring your own adult beverages, if preferred. Tickets are available here.

The second annual Mackinaw Boat Symposium hosted by Heritage Coast Sailing & Rowing takes place Friday, June 9th beginning at 10 a.m. The symposium focuses on the history and current status of the Mackinaw boat. Mackinaws were the workhorse small craft of the Great Lakes in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. More information can be found at www.Heritage-23.org.
